Charter Bareboat Sailing out of Elba, Italy
Cap Corse

Hop on the ferry from mainland Italy and within an hour you arrive in a bareboating paradise. With picturesque, cliff-lined bays, the warm “turquoise” Tyrrhenian Sea, and passages to Corsica and other Tuscan islands, charter bareboat sailing in Elba offers an accessible sailing adventure “alla Italiana” with options for good bay anchorages as well as beautiful ports . Our one week bareboat charter took us from Portoferraio in the north around the east and southern coast of Elba, to Cap Corse the northern most point of Corsica, and the Italian island of Capraia. We look forward to returning for a longer cruise not only to enjoy Elba again, but also to explore Corsica’s western coast.

Area Insight Overview – We chartered from SunCharter a German company with who we have had great bareboat charter experiences in both Corfu and the southern Turkey. Their Elba base is in Portoferraio, which sits about 45 minutes by ferry from mainland Piombino. As described in the trip itinerary navigation was straightforward, anchorages had great holding, and conditions permitted some fun sailing during our week long charter bareboat vacation. We even experienced a most unique mooring system in the small port of Capraia Island.
