Arrival and Transfers – As is our custom now, I arrived in Italy to take the drive across Greece with Lisa and Marcello to the rather remote town of Milina in the southeast corner of the Gulf of Volos about an hour from Volos. We had made arrangements through the charter company to stay at the reasonably priced pension located at the charter base. Food in Milina was basic Greek taverna fare.
Charter Company – We chartered Julia Too from Sunsail. The base operated with typical Sunsail efficiency and they had us ready to shove-off with enough daylight to make our first anchorage on the Palaio Trikeri Island, but, zaziki didn’t agree with Marcello.
Note:
- The remoteness of the Milina base and limited resources in Milina make this a difficult departure point compared to our past bareboat charters. I recommend taking a look at bareboat charting on the Island of Skiathos.
